She provided a list of 10 commandments that she learned based on her experience and entrepreneurs and business owners should heed.

  1. Be your authentic self.
  2. Be honest both with yourself and others about failures.
  3. Be ready with numerous backup plans.
  4. Know your strengths, limits and unique value proposition.
  5. Surround yourself with people who believe in your purpose and plan.
  6. Be transparent.
  7. Know when to hold back.
  8. Be careful of complaining.
  9. Make yourself a commodity and an in-demand product.
  10. Make a realistic plan.
